POLARTEC
POWER STRETCH

Power Stretch thermal fabric, manufactured by Polartec LLC, is a highly elastic material with enhanced moisture-wicking and breathable properties. Power Stretch thermal suits provide maximum freedom of movement during sports and active recreation.

In terms of heat retention, the fabric is on par with wool. At the same time, it is much lighter, dries faster, wicks sweat away from the body without absorbing moisture, and protects against wind, light rain, and snow. Microfiber does not cause allergic reactions. The material is wear-resistant, easy to wash, and quick to dry. It belongs to the next-to-skin category.

The unique properties of the material are achieved through a two-component knit construction based on a blend of synthetic fibers — a strong and elastic outer layer and a soft inner layer with specially woven velour pile.

  • The thermal fabric stretches in 4 directions, hugs the body, and provides maximum freedom of movement.
  • Excellent heat retention. Microfiber is extremely thin, so there are many more individual fibers per unit area than in regular fabric. This creates numerous air pockets within the fabric that prevent heat loss. These pockets are not sealed, allowing water vapor to escape easily.
  • The fiber structure provides high durability; the material is machine washable.
  • Keeps the body dry. One-way moisture transfer from the inner velour layer to the outer: sweat is wicked away from the skin through the "contact points" of the inner fabric surface, acting as a wick, and upon reaching the outer surface, it spreads over an area many times larger than the original — drying speed is 2 times faster than cotton.
  • Resistant to rain and wind. Microfiber features near-zero hygroscopicity and very low wettability. On the outer surface of the fabric, fibers form a very dense structure that prevents moisture and wind penetration from outside.
MANUFACTURING
POWER STRETCH

A special pile creation technology was developed for manufacturing Power Stretch. The pile is an integral part of the base and cannot be torn from the fabric. First, a knit fabric is woven with knots created on its surface, which are then broken apart after dyeing on special equipment to form the pile.

The number and size of the knots determine the density and length of the pile. The fabric undergoes anti-pilling, antibacterial, and water-repellent treatment. Anti-pilling treatment prevents pile matting, allowing products to maintain their original appearance for a long time. Antibacterial treatment prevents microbial growth and reduces the likelihood of unpleasant odors. Water-repellent treatment enhances the outer layer's ability to repel water.

Power Stretch fabric products should be washed in cool water, preferably with a mild, non-aggressive detergent. Bleach and water softeners are not recommended. Dry without a heater or in a tumble dryer at low temperatures. Thermal fabric does not need ironing. For best results, it is recommended to wash products separately.
